What does the PMU procedure include?
Each PMU procedure is carefully customized for you and includes several important steps. We begin with a consultation to discuss your goals, preferences, and suitability for treatment. Then we move on to precise brow mapping or design to ensure symmetry and shape that suits your features. A topical numbing agent is applied to maximize comfort. Once the procedure begins, pigment is gently implanted into the skin using professional techniques. At the end, you will receive detailed aftercare instructions to help your skin heal properly and to maintain the best results.
When can I schedule a touch-up?
Touch-ups are allowed 30+ days after the original procedure, once healed.
Do you use string or rulers when designing brows?
Every face has some degree of natural asymmetry. If we focus only on making the brows look perfectly symmetrical without considering bone structure or eye placement, the imbalance can actually become more noticeable. For this reason, I do not use string, and I use rulers only when absolutely necessary. This approach allows me to create a design that blends harmoniously with your facial features, resulting in brows that look natural and balanced rather than overly mechanical.
Frequently Asked Questions
Post-Treatment

What should I avoid after?
Please avoid the following for at least 7 days after your procedure:
- Getting the treated area wet (avoid water and cleansers on the area during face washing).
- Saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, gyms, or any activities that cause excessive sweating.
- Applying makeup, cleansers, or skincare products to the treated area.
- Picking, rubbing, or peeling dry skin or scabs from the brows or lips.
- Drinking alcohol, smoking, or eating spicy foods (may trigger irritation or poor healing).
- Intense sun exposure or tanning (regular outdoor activity is fine).
More detailed instructions will be provided during the appointment.
Is it okay to remove scabs or dry skin during healing?
No, it is very important not to pick, scratch, or peel scabs and dry skin while your brows are healing. This can pull out the pigment, cause uneven color, and even increase the risk of scarring or infection. Allow the skin to flake and shed naturally. Following the aftercare instructions carefully will help your brows heal evenly and maintain the best long term results.
How long does healing take?
The initial healing process typically takes about 7 to 10 days, during which the brows will go through phases of scabbing, flaking, and lightening. It generally takes 4 weeks for the pigment to fully settle into the skin and for the true color and shape to become visible.
Why aren’t touch-ups free?
Touch ups are considered a separate service because they require the same level of time, skill, and materials as your initial appointment. Every skin type heals differently, and some clients may need more work to perfect the shape or color. Charging for touch ups allows us to dedicate the necessary time and resources to ensure the best possible long term results for your brows. Thank you for understanding that this helps us maintain the quality of care and artistry you receive.
Why does the pigment look dark at first?
It is completely normal for your brows to appear darker right after the procedure. This happens because the pigment is still settling into the skin and there may be minor redness or swelling that makes the color appear more intense. Within the first week, as the skin naturally heals and exfoliates, the pigment will gradually lighten by about 30 to 50 percent. The final color will soften and look more natural once the healing process is complete.
Do skincare products affect my brows after the procedure?
Skincare ingredients with strong exfoliating or anti aging effects such as retinol, glycolic acid, or lactic acid may gradually cause cosmetic tattoos to fade if used consistently. These products accelerate skin cell renewal and increase exfoliation in the treated area. For best results, we advise pausing the use of such products at least 3 to 4 weeks prior to your cosmetic tattoo appointment. During the healing period, it is also important to ensure that no skincare products come into direct contact with the treated area. Once the skin has fully healed, it is recommended to avoid applying these products directly over the tattooed skin to help preserve the pigment over time.
How long do PMU results last, and will I need more than one session?
PMU is long lasting, but it will gradually fade over time and usually needs refreshing every one to two years. How quickly the color fades depends on several factors such as the pigment shade (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle habits like sun exposure, and whether chemical treatments come into contact with the area. Every skin type heals differently, so final results can vary and cannot be guaranteed. Some clients are satisfied after just one session, especially for brows or eyeliner. However, for lips we usually recommend at least two sessions to build up even color and achieve the best results. At your second session, we will review how your skin has retained the pigment and make any necessary adjustments. The second appointment can be booked no sooner than one month after the initial visit. Any touch ups will be charged according to our current pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Service Expectations

Can I change my brow shape drastically?
We recommend working with your natural brow shape for best balance and healing. Extreme changes can heal unevenly.
Will my brows be perfectly symmetrical?
No. two sides of the face are exactly the same, so brows can never be 100 percent identical. Our goal is to design brows that are as balanced and harmonious as possible while enhancing your natural features. Small differences are normal and often look more natural than forcing perfect symmetry. We always do our best to correct asymmetry and promise to create a design that looks balanced and harmonious with your face.
How do you choose the right shape and color for me?
Every design is customized to your unique features. We carefully consider your bone structure, facial balance, eye placement, and personal preferences. Colors are selected based on your natural undertones and skin type to achieve results that look natural and enhance your overall appearance.
Will it hurt? Do you use numbing cream?
Pain levels vary from person to person, but most clients do not find the procedure to be very painful. The sensation is usually described as mild discomfort. To ensure your comfort, we apply a topical numbing cream before and during the procedure, which helps minimize sensitivity and makes the process much easier to go through.
Can I wear makeup to my appointment?
Yes, you can come with makeup if you’d like. In fact, some clients prefer to show us how they normally do their makeup, and we can use that as a reference when creating your PMU design. Coming with a clean face and no makeup on the treatment area is ideal, but if you arrive with makeup, we will carefully remove and disinfect the area before starting. This ensures the procedure is safe and hygienic, so you do not need to worry.
How often do I need a touch up?
PMU is long lasting but not permanent. Most clients benefit from a refresh every 1 to 2 years to keep the color vibrant. The exact timing depends on factors like skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and pigment shade. Your artist will guide you on when it may be best to schedule your next touch up.
Can you match my lipstick color?
We can get close, but healed results depend on your natural lip tone and undertone.
